The European Council has published the four column document for the Drinking Water Directive trilogues which began on Monday, 7 October 2019.
The four column document is an informal tool prepared by the Council before entering into negotiations with the Parliament and the Commission in the so-called trilogues where the three parties meet and negotiate towards an agreement on a common text. Trilogues can take several months, up to 18, depending on the level of disagreement between the institutions.
